In the era of globalization, bilingualism has become one of the basic abilities necessary for international talents.
For LFIS students, English is not only a subject, but also a practical tool, but also an interest. Interest is the best teacher, and applying what you have learned is the ultimate goal of learning.
Last week, LFIS Junior and Senior High Schools co-hosted the English Week English Week, through a series of diverse, rich, creative and interesting activities for students to use English and learn English. Every student actively participates in it and expresses in English to their heart's content. Own.
To celebrate English, our middle school and high school departments have teamed up to co-host English Week! During this entire week, our main objective is to focus on speaking English as much as possible. To help encourage students to participate, we have several games during the week, in addition to events like a Wacky Spelling Bee and Movie Night. It is our sincere hope students have fun, trying their best to speak English through the course of the week. We know English isn't easy-- in fact it's quite difficult-- but that doesn't mean we can't have fun!

Three major activities
The rich, interactive, and immersive language environment has a multiplier effect on students' Chinese and English learning.
In English Week, the teacher encourages students to actively express themselves in English and complete the challenge of persisting in completing communication in English during school. In this week, every student who works hard to participate in the activity can get a lottery, and a certain number of lottery tickets can be exchanged for gifts or awards.
Fun game
Every morning reading class, there is a creative game about English. While students are fighting for honors for themselves, they can also contribute valuable points to their teams. The sense of collective honor and belonging gives students more motivation to learn.

Movie Night
Watch the original soundtrack《Black Widow》
Interesting English activities with different themes can not only provide learners with an opportunity to exercise their English skills, but are also different from listening and speaking training in the classroom. The game content is diverse, lively and interesting, so that everyone has more opportunities to communicate in English in a relaxed atmosphere.
Spelling Bee
Spelling Bee has begun. Everyone has to complete the challenge activities behind each word while spelling English words, such as spelling words in different tones and completing different poses while spelling... Enthusiasm is high, and the students keep coming up with new ideas and trying new challenges.
Award ceremony
After five days of hard work, it is finally time for the exciting awards. The teachers made a comprehensive assessment based on the number of tickets and performances received by the students this week, and awarded prizes to the outstanding students.

English Week, we have something to say
After experiencing a week of English Week activities, the students have something to say about this activity
English week is very good, it improves my English a lot. I hope such a wonderful event can be held several more times!
——G8 Ashley
When the first time I heard there was an English week, I thought it was very good. Usually I would say some Chinese when I don't know the word in English. However, during the English week, when you say Chinese, you will lose one ticket. It's very funny when you try hard to say any words in English.
——G6 Kevin
In the English week, I feel happy. It can help you learn more about English. And we can learn about some tradition.
——G6 Tina
The five day English week inspired me to speak English and suppress my desire to blurt out chinese. When I lost one ticket, I was sad for about two lessons.
——G9 Emma
Recently, our school held an English week. Everyone gets five tickets a day, and if they speak any other language, someone will take one ticket away. I found it so much fun that I took votes from people who spoke other languages while making sure I didn't lose them myself. I ended up with one of the top vote stealers.
——G12 Celine
English week is an activity that you can't speak other languages except English for a week. Through this activity, I realized the importance of native language and how good my English was. I hope we can continue to have fun activities like this.
——G10 Daniel
I think last week’s activity was very interesting, because I could practice my oral English. I got to experience what being in a foreign atmosphere might feel like. This activity is very meaningful and tests my English ablity.
——G11 Irving
The perfect ending of English Week is not the end of learning, but a better start. Cultivating excellent bilingual learners is not just a week, but every day. Let us work together to learn a little bit more every day!Enjoy English, Enjoy learning!
